About Tescom Corporation
Tescom Corporation is an American company that specializes in solutions for standard and custom-engineered precision pressure control. The company was first established in 1916 by Elmer Smith, initially being named Smith Inventions. During their early years, the company primarily focused on the production of oxy-acetylene welding and cutting equipment. By the 1950’s, Smiths Inventions had expanded their product portfolio to include high pressure regulators, and it was at this time that they rebranded themselves as Tescom Corporation. During the 1980’s, Tescom was sold off in an LBO sale, and they soon began expanding internationally in the European market with a new office in the United Kingdom. In 1993, Tescom decided to pivot their operations to refocus on fluid controls, retiring their oxy-acetylene products that initially made them well-known. In 2005, Tescom was acquired by Emerson Electric who serves as their parent company to this day.
