About United Technologies Corporation

United Technologies Corporation (UTC), now merged with Raytheon Corporation, was a United States conglomerate that provided various parts and services in relation to aircraft engines, aerospace systems, building automation, industrial products, HVAC systems, elevators, and much more. United Technologies Corporation was first formed in 1975 with the reformation of United Aircraft Corporation, and their first operations consisted of the diversification of their business into divisions that extended beyond aerospace applications. To achieve this, UTC began acquiring and merging multiple businesses such as Otis Elevator, Mostek, and Sundstrand Corporation. During the 2000’s, UTC continued to enter new industries, establishing a market presence in fire and security, energy services, and much more. In 2019, UTC announced its intention to merge with Raytheon, and the process was completed in 2020 with the formation of Raytheon Technologies. During the years leading into their merging with Raytheon, UTC also spun off and split various subsidiaries of theirs, including Otis Elevator and UTC Climate, Controls & Security.
